Mental Health Community RN

In-home care for those with mental health conditions and addiction who are experiencing comorbid medical conditions which interfere with one living their best life.
Offering reliable emotional support in the form of:
– Collaboration with your treating specialist
– Developing a therapeutic alliance by empathy, in harmony and treating one with the upmost respect
– Active listening, talking with someone who will not provide unsolicited advice, just listen
– Brief Intervention
– Active reflection
– Self-care plans to work towards improving ones self-respect and self-acceptance
– Safety plans
– Trauma informed care – individual needs, not what’s wrong with you instead what’s happened
– Motivational interviewing
– Meditational and conditional education sessions

Mentoring and Coaching

Mentoring and Coaching through the use of Role Theory.

We work with veterans, young adults, family members / carers. We also offer monthly Clinical Supervision to mental health workers or any healthcare professional.

Role Theory is an active reflective tool to review the roles we play in life. These roles may be digressing (not coping) or coping.

By identifying negative and complacent roles, Role Theory assists the client to develop progressive role goals that will enhance their personal life and relationships.

Life Stage Transitions

Assisting with life stage transitions, we work with clients to develop plans that assist with sudden changes in lifestyle, end of life support and advanced life planning.

Problem Solving

Providing coaching on techniques that are proactive and responsive not reactive.

We work to understand anger and how anger adversely effects decision making and relationships.
We provide education on brain and nervous system functioning, mindfulness and meditation.

You will also learn to be emotional intelligent.

Mindfulness

Consciously bringing awareness to you’re here and know experiences with open mindedness,  with  curiousness and objectivity.  In other words, focusing being in the moment, not having to be a certain way.

Mindfulness increases focus and concentration and can transform relationships by reducing the influence the painful thoughts and feelings  has over our present moment.

Outcomes of mindfulness:
acceptance, commitment to self-reflection and leads to in the moment regulation of thoughts and feelings.

Relaxation

Relaxing the body and mind can be achieved through breathing and or muscle activation. 

The purpose of relaxation is to decrease the body and mind from tension and arousal be it fear, anger, anxiety or hopelessness.

Relaxation benefits include:
More enjoyment with daily activities, alertness,  better sleep,  improved self-image, and interpersonal relationships.

Meditation

Meditation is described as a mind and body technique that increases one’s ability to contemplate on an issue or practice self-reflection; ultimately to achieve a higher level of spiritual awareness.

Meditation is similar to mindfulness; however, the individual can choose to have meditation delivered  through the use of music or voice.  A popular form of meditation is loving kindness whereby the individual focus on sending good thoughts to the universe.

The goal of meditation is to increase body mind calmness and serenity which assist in living in the present moment.

Reiki Energy Healing

Reiki is a Japanese word that means sacred or spiritual energy.

Ki is that life energy or universal energy that is cultivated and used in the art of Reiki.
Reiki is a spiritual, holistic approach, often referred to as energy work or energy healing. Reiki can assist with decreasing anxiety, improving mindfulness and deep relaxation. Reiki compliments meditation. Reiki can be used anywhere and at anytime. There are no side effects. The benefits include, achieving inner peace, presence and satisfaction in life.

Positive Behaviour Plan

We work with the client to develop an individualised positive behaviour plan that is trauma informed tailored to the specific needs of the client.
The goal of individualised positive behaviour plans are to increase autonomy, develop healthy thought processes, increase regulation of emotions and develop emotional competence.
